Playa Son Serra de Marina

Son Serra de Marina is one of the beaches in Mallorca located 11 km from Can Picafort, it has a beach, a marina, and urbanization. In the residential area, we can find around watchtower and defense that has a panoramic view that goes from Cap de Farrutx (Artà) to Alcudia.

Dunes Platja Aparthotel is located just 10 km from the beach of Son Serra de Marina.

This sandy area has a coarse grain and the sand on the shore is covered by remains of Posidonia algae. On your right is the Torrent de na Borges, the natural border of Santa Margalida and Artà. To your left the facilities of the Club Nautic Serra Nova.

Its extensive coastline is made of sand and rocks, very low and shallow. Access to the highway is simple.

Necropolis of Son Real (Cemetery of the Phoenicians)

The public estate of Son Real is located on the Northwest coast of Mallorca, in the municipality of Santa Margalida. It has an area of ​​395 hectares. It is a large open-air museum where important archaeological, ethnographic and natural remains are concentrated. It is a unique necropolis in Mallorca and the Western Mediterranean.

There are a series of tombs that reproduce, on a small scale, the most important constructions of the Talayotic culture (naviform chambers, square and circular talayots).

This place is dated to the Iron Age and was a settlement from this time until Roman times.

Inside this necropolis, the subterranean tombs have different shapes: square and circular (late 7th-6th century BC) with a horseshoe-shaped plan (5th century BC) and rectangular (4th century BC – I AD). 109 tombs are preserved in an area of ​​approx. of 800m2 where the remains of about 300 people were located, but it is possible that more than 400 were buried.

The Son Real farm is located just 6 km from the Aparthotel Dunes Platja, you can visit and we will find from a possession, autochthonous animals (sheep, black pigs, peacocks, donkeys, etc.) that are properly cared for and raised, a totally ecological agricultural production, highlighting the almond tree crops, carob and fig trees.

Playas de Muro

Platja de Muro es una de las playas de Mallorca, situada a 3 km del centro de Port d’Alcúdia, y a 15 km. del centro de Muro, entre el espigón de s’Oberta del Parc Natural de s’Albufera (se puede visitar, la entrada es gratuita) y frontera imaginaria con Platja d’Alcúdia, de la que es una prolongación. La Platja de Muro se refiere a los 5,2 km de costa que forman parte de este municipio.

La Playa de Muro es la playa que se encuentra delante del Aparthotel Dunes Platja a tan solo unos metros podrás disfrutar de su arena y mar turquesa.

Esta playa tiene una finísima arena y registra muy poca profundidad para la tranquilidad de los padres y los turistas. Se necesita caminar bastantes metros hasta que se deja de hacer pie. A su espalda se extiende el sistema dunar y su red de senderos, salpicados por la aparición de pinar y bosques de enebros. Destaca su oferta hotelera de calidad y un turismo de categoría, principalmente familiar.

Sus aguas son transparentes, de oleaje moderado a tranquilo, la arena es fina y de color dorado, ideal para todo tipo de usuario.

El acceso por carretera es sencillo siguiendo la señalización. Se podrá estacionar de manera gratuita entre las calles que llevan hasta esta playa.

La playa se divide en 3 zonas:

  • Al oeste (la parte más cercana a Alcúdia) la playa dispone de todos los servicios, baños, duchas, restaurantes, servicio de socorrismo, acceso para minusválidos y alquiler de sombrillas y hamacas, esta es la zona más turística con una amplia oferta hotelera y de apartamentos.
  • Es Branc: la parte intermedia de la playa, comienza en la desembocadura del afluente s’Oberta, procedente del Parque Natural de s’Albufera. Esta zona es algo más tranquila que la anterior.
  • Finalmente, la zona más natural Es Comu, que está a 1 km de Can Picafort y a 10,5 km de Muro. El entorno va transformándose en un paraje totalmente natural y virgen. Tiene una extensión de 1,5 km de playa virgen, repleta de dunas, pinos y arbustos. El acceso hasta esta parte de la playa es más complicado, el visitante deberá andar o bien desde la parte de Es Branc o desde Casetes des Capellans a 1 km de Can Picafort.
